- Greenport, on the North Fork – This quaint little village has a vintage carousel, roller-skating rink, and several ice cream shops. All are in walking distance to the harbor and marinas.
- Smith’s Cove – This is a small anchorage where you can swim, kayak, or paddleboard into a saltwater pond. The kids can take a net and bucket to collect blue crabs.
- Cedar Point – A good spot to anchor then swim in, kids love to climb up the sandy bluffs and slide or run back down again.
- Three Mile Harbor, East Hampton – This is great for stopping at a family-friendly restaurant, and they have several, or just cruising into and out of the harbor. There’s a beautiful little estuary lined with impressive waterfront homes. Boats can anchor inside and launch the paddle boards and kayaks to explore the shallow waters.
