Albin Boats is a Swedish boat manufacturer that has been producing boats since 1899. The company has a rich history and has gained recognition for its quality craftsmanship and reliable vessels. Albin Boats has produced a range of boat models over the years, including powerboats, sailboats, and fishing boats.
Albin Boats History
Albin Boats was founded in 1899 in Sweden as a marine diesel engine and boat manufacturer. Albin focused on the marine engine business before moving into boat building, initially, only building sailboats. When entering the world of powerboats, they began with the Albin 25 Double Cabin, introduced in 1969. Albin was one of the main importers and distributors of Taiwan-built trawlers through most of the 1980s. Later that decade, the company began work on Downeast cruising and fishing boats.
Before going out of business in the fall of 2007, Albin utilized a 147,000-square-foot fabrication facility in Portsmouth, RI where they incorporated over a century of design and construction experience into every model they delivered. Albin built trawlers, motor yachts, and tournament express yachts. There’s still an Albin Yacht for every taste and need. Recognized for being extremely seaworthy, the North Sea design tradition has always kept the Albin easily above water and is well-known for good handling in very tough sea conditions. These hand-crafted vessels deliver high quality overall and the well-thought-out design features timeless styling and great accommodations. It’s still possible to find newer Albin boats because several of the molds of their models were purchased by another company.
